Just wanted to know if there was any flooding in those two counties.
We will be looking to buy our new home probably in Wayne County or Pike...
Any flooding and what areas to stay away from???

Yes.

Westfall, Matamoras and parts of Milford in Pike county (that I am aware of)

Wayne county has flooding out near Hawley (according to my aunt), Lake Como and along the Delaware.

There might be more, but we just drove from Shohola (Pike county) to NY and that is all I saw.

Ooh, near Hawley, that is one of the towns we are looking in. Hmm,
how about if the property is away from the rivers and up on a hill?
Have there been problems with properties like that?

If you are up high, you should be dry.

We are on a hillside, and we have a few mini streams in the area, but nothing that is going to wreck you basement or house.

Look hard in the basement, see if there is evidence of water penetration. If there is then ask bout it till you are satisfied.

My brother in law is in Upstate NY and his house is up on a hill but he can't get to the stores and stuff because of the road flooding.
