Here we go. Fact: Connell Lofts and 317 Linden Apartments will bring hundreds of people downtown.

The rest is just a distraction.

Not fact, conjecture.

What fun would that be TBT? The only time this board gets more than a few posts a day is when there is drama.

Once again, I'll believe it when I see it....until then its just pie-in-the-sky promises like St. Peter's Square, the old railroad terminal on Lackawanna Ave, Southern Union headquarters....etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.

Gloom. Doom. Gloom. Doom. You know what, Dan? You sound just like the people of The District in the 1990s as gentrifcation was just beginning to take hold. Today? DC's population is growing rapidly, housing prices are only a hair below NYC, and developers can't keep pace with the demand for downtown condos and lofts. Why would someone want to live in South Abington Township when they could live in Downtown Scranton? I just don't get how any ecologically-conscious person could want to do that to themselves. Trust me. I grew up in a car-centric suburb. It sucked. I live in a car-centric suburb now because I'm priced out of the city. It sucks.

I love the burbs, i grew up in them and had the best time. There were kids all over, our parents always had parties, we all had to be in when the streetlights came on, we had a pool our parents joined and if we didn't wanna go to the pool we went to the illegal swimming hole and had even a better time. We could walk to the local store and get sodas and what not, but most of the time our parents had to take turns driving us to where we wanted to go. We took the yellow bus to school and for who ever had activities after there were two late buses to get us home, one at 4:30 and one at 5:30. They don't have late buses here, i don't understand why. It was just an awesome place to grow up, i wouldn't change it for anything. Great memories and great times!!!!!
