on our way home from nepa the other day we took i-84 into putnam county.
in the town of kent just near carmel in putnam county we found an amazing buddist monastery ...it looks like a set from a bruce lee movie and is one of the most peacful serine place i ever had the pleasure of being in.....

Very familiar with Carmel/Kent/Brewster, etc. Where exactly is this? Did you talk to anyone. Great pictures, really captures the ambianance.

its right off the taconic parkway , 301 exit east...its about 2 miles or so from the parkway heading toward carmel...you can talk to the monks but the nice thing is no one approaches you to promote their beliefs ..its just a beautiful place to see ....... the huge buddah is amazing and althoug i didnt keep the picture surrounding that big main buddah are 10,000 little statues of buddah

no flash is allowed in the temple so you need nice fast lenses or cameras capable of clean high iso shooting
