How painful (difficult) will it be to get a building permit for a 10 ft. extension on a house in Scranton? Correct me if I am wrong...(please someone): My understanding is the home owner can do the work himself as long as he has a licensed and city certified ( not sure of the correct termology) plumber and or electrican do any of that type of work. I do not believe any variances will be needed, the extension will not be near any property lines...but "blowing out the back wall" 10ft into a 100ft. deep lot.
I am also curious about inspections because my understanding is some city (city positions) inspectors do not have creditentals?...
Any info is greatly appreciated!

lol......... you have entered the scranton building and licensing twilight zone...the right hand doesnt know what the left is doing in that dept... I had a addition put on... the city electrical inspectors showed up 1 year later to look at the wiring....lmao!!! I showed them the outlets and the sheetrocked /painted walls and told them the wiring was behind it!!!
