Over the past year in particular the following powerful local people have been indicted, ousted from their positions, resigned, investigated etc. as a result of potential wrong-doing with MANY more on the way I'm certain.

John Adonizio (School Board Member: Hughestown)
Gerald Bonner (Former Jury Commissioner: Luzerne County)
Sandra Brulo (Former Deputy Director of Forensic Services: Ashley)
Mark Ciavarella (Former Judge: Mountain Top)
Michael Conahan (Former Judge: Hazleton)
Bob Cordaro (Former County Comissioner: Dunmore)
Bill D'Elia (Mafia Player: Hughestown)
Lou DeNaples (Casino Owner: Dunmore)
Brian Dunn (Former School Board Member: Wilkes-Barre)
James Height (Former School Board Member: Wilkes-Barre)
Rob Mericle (Commercial Real Estate Mogul: Jackson Twp.)
Jill Moran (Former Prothonotary: Hazleton)
Joseph Oliveri (Former School Board Member: Hughestown)
Robert Powell (Attorney: Hazleton)
Michael Savokinas (Former Sheriff: Exeter Twp.)
Ross Scarantino (Former Superintendent: Pittston)
William Sharkey (Former Court Administrator: West Hazleton)

Plus I'm certain I'm missing many, many more.

Anyhow, as it seems like someone else is taking the heat each week, who do YOU think will be next as a target of a Federal investigation?

About time things turn around IMHO

What have Barletta and McGroarty done to make you think they could be getting into trouble?

Skrepenak I agree with you on....Steve Corbett was saying today that an employee of Skrep's father's bar, Big Ugly's, was brought in to testify in front of the grand jury today.

I'm wondering if the selling of Montage Mountain to the Philadelphia based and politically connected 'investors' over a company already operating similar sized ski hills in PA is gonna draw some close scrutiny from the feds. That was a decision by former(?) Lackawanna County commissioners, and I think one Luzerne County commissioner was represented on some authority board.

Edit to add, today was a busy day on this topic, Robert Mericle enters guilty plea in federal court, Luzerne Sheriff Savokinas abruptly resigns (actually yesterday, Tuesday), and Luzerne County Housing Authority member and Jury Commissioner (I think I got this correct) Jerry Bonner was indited on federal charges.

This whole resigning-before-you're-indited thing is a mini-scam itself. Or so I'm told. If you're charged with and found guilty of a felony while you're in office, in general you forfeit your pensions and retirement monies. If the charges occur when you're out of office, i.e. even one day after you resign, there's more wiggle room for you, or your attorney, to argue to keep your retirement benefits.

The ever vigliant bureaucrats we employ in Harrisburg seem to have caught on to this scam, and are denying the benefits, as in the case of the two disgraced judges, ... so far.

Yes, what wrong doing did Lou Barletta do, besides trying to clean up his city? I think he should be praised.

I'll gladly trade Hazleton Doherty, the Southern Union building, and the Nay Aug treehouse for Barletta!

Then Doherty can take all of Scranton's illegals with him to Hazleton...since it was Doherty himself that invited them up to Scranton when Barletta was driving them out of Hazleton.
