In Europe most people speak two or three languages. Whenever we go out of the country I feel ignorant because I only know English.

I hope they are talking about legal immigrants. I mean, who wants our country overrun by people that don't contribute and don't want to assimilate and drain the system in the process.

Ditto. I was educated in Spanish for five years, can write it very well, and speak it at an intermediate level (I'm not the best at interpreting what natives say though). I found learning Spanish to be a VERY enjoyable experience. My only regret was not continuing to double-major in it in favor of devoting more time to my accounting studies.

Illegal aliens most certainly DO contribute to your social security and mine. They contribute to the economy of this country as well. There is a famous study that was done to show how much damage that illegals do to our country. You know what the results were? The illegals brought in a helluva lot more money than they took away......

I think you're missing it here, ILLEGAL=UNLAWFUL. They shouldn't be here, there is no argument about it. Let them go get legal, sick of it, sick of people defending them.

One thing that should change is the granting of US citizenship to ANYONE born here, which leads to anchor babies. Most European countries do not grant automatic citizenship to babies born to foreign parents, even if they are legal, unless their parents have been naturalized before having the baby.

You're missing the whole point, THEY ARE STILL ILLEGAL. How can you justify someone who comes here, breaks our laws, doesn't pay taxes and can't speak English? I will never, ever accept or respect anyone here illegally.

I'm sick of people thinking stating facts is defending an illegal activity.

I'm not justifying anything. I'm stating a fact.
