Same for me, and I went to Tunkhannock. I had to test out of a bunch of classes in college because of how dumbed down it was for me at that point. My good friends from Tunkhannock said the same thing at various schools (PSU, Kutztown, Pitt, Kings). It all depends on your parents and your own desire to learn.

They shouldn't even post test scores like PSSAs / SATs in the newspapers because I agree they don't tell the whole story. But, the real test is when you begin college. That is when the you can conclude that your high school prepared you for the workload and challenges of college or not. A failing school isn't determined by test scores and I don't credit Abington based on test scores. I credit the standards they upheld for the teachers and yeah the annoying workload and summer reading lists were worth it after all! I also credit their guidance dept. for giving us a really good college preview (the application process, what to expect, college workload, etc.). Unfortunately we don't have one county-wide district so that you can experiment which school you like or think is better. Actually, getting rid of all these school boards and creating one county one would be the way to go. Plus, there would be a lot of $$ saved. Any thoughts? Or even redrawing district lines -- you have that issue with Ransom (close to Riverside, Old Forge, West), Dalton (closer to AH), Jermyn/Mayfield (closer to Valley View), West Abington (closer to AH) just to name a few
