Is it a desktop or laptop? They give you labels for free shipping on laptops...

If it's a major name brand you might want to check with them.

Dell has a recycling program and they sent me a prepaid box to mail it back to them minus my hard drive. Easy peasy.

is it in working condition? If so see if there's something local like a church, senior center, etc that would probably be happy to take it.
I think Best Buy might have a recycling program too. Salvation Army takes electronics once in a while as well, working or not.

Word of caution from someone who works in the computer field: Make sure you delete ALL personal information, photos, banking information if you do online banking, and anything else you may have done on your computer that you would consider personal and highly confidential. You don't want someone to have access to your info after you've thrown out that PC or laptop.

thanks for all the responses. I found a recycling day at Nazareth Intermediate school tomorrow so i will finally drop it off there. what a coincidence. thanks for all the help!
