I don't live in PA, but visit frequently. Some freelance opportunities have been presented that will allow me to be in PA even more in the coming year. I need to find out more about what's happening in NEPA throughout the year and on a regular basis. I'm interested in community events, social events, interesting locations in the country (farms, beds & breakfasts, etc.) and growth or happenings in the cities. Aside from the local papers and city data, do you know of any blogs or websites that have updated info about such events, especially small events and things that are more known to the locals? Thanks.

Smile 570faux

www.570faux.com

This site will show you a new faux finish service that has been painting the town red for the past couple years.
They painted some of the building murals downtown in Wilkes Barre, Bentley's entertainment complex in Ashley,
and Sakari Salon in Forty Fort, all new businesses in the NEPA area.
Definitely one of the coolest things happening in Pa lately, a new look to an old town.

You shouldn't have any problems with the d300. Nikon makes an excellent product. You will, however, need to allow your camera adjust to the cold in order to prevent fog. I usually put my camera bag with my camera and lenses out on the covered porch for about 20-30 minutes or so to let it get cold. I leave it zipped and make sure moisture cannot get to it. That help with the fog. Just be sure your bag doesn't get stolen!

Looking forward to seeing the pix. I'm in Alabama through Christmas, and we rarely see snow here. Will be in PA for New Year's...maybe I'll get my snow pix then.

Thanks for the links, please keep them coming. If you know of local bloggers, that would be great, too. I'm building a list and will be happy to share it here once I get back to work after the holidays.
