No surprise that we're not anywhere near the top of this list. Salaries in NEPA are downright pitiful and I don't know how some people support themselves on the measly wages employers in this area pay. However, the Lehigh Valley was pretty high on this list, ranked 8th.
The really pathetic thing is that Scranton/Wilkes-Barre has the second lowest 2009 median pay among all of the metro areas polled....barely beating out depressing Youngstown, OH.
The Youngstown area is not that much different from Scranton. The suburbs, style of living, and their history as far as growing up are very similar.
