In today's Times Leader, an article on the first baby born in the new year in Luzerne County...to a 17 year old, and this is her THIRD CHILD!!! (and no mention of a father, of course) First all of the corruption, and here's more news to make the county the butt of jokes. Yikes.

I'm more concerned about a 17 year old having three children then any perceived embarrassment for the county. I've never put too much stock into the gossipy opinions of others when it comes to these types of situations.

Wow. I don't know how that could be any worse. Maybe if she had just moved to the area from the Bronx or something. Put a cork in it already! She will no doubt be receiving heavy public (taxpayer) assistance for the kids.

I will add that this seems like another **** stirring story by the Times Leader. There was no need for that horrible picture of the girl and the story is dripping with condescension. Seriously, TL, use SOME ethics and common sense.

All newspapers do a story on the first baby of the new year. This is nothing new. An you know what? There should be some condescension towards a kid who has gotten knocked up 3 TIMES!!! Where the h-e-double-hockey-sticks are her parents?? (My guess is her mother is no older than 35, and already a grandparent of 3).

Yes, we should be condescending towards the KID. Mhm. That makes sense and will totally help the situation!

There is something called journalistic integrity that TL is sorely lacking lately. (Hello, doing an article on Skrepenack's KID)

Unfortunatley, the jokes probably on us. I'd bet my last tax dollar that everyone of those babies is a meal ticket via. the welfare gravy train that of course we get the privalege of paying for. The father is probably out selling crack, News Years Eve is probably a busy night in the drug dealing buisness.. That smile on her face in the T.L. was probably because she knows she is getting a major boost in her foodstamp and welfare benefits.

I agree 100%...we the taxpayers are probably providing more support for those kids than the "fathers" (yes its probably safe to assume there are more than 1)....my heart breaks for the kids....they're innocent victims in this, and probably have no chance in life being born into this situation.....the cycle will probably continue....

Yes... this "kid" (its not like she's 10...she made a conscious decision to engage in activity that can result in procreation) needs SOMEBODY to tell her that this kind of irresponsible behavior at her age is WRONG. Obviously her parents didn't teach her right.
