Are there any complexes in Pike County that are managed by outside companies as opposed to a Board of Directors? Which would you favor?

Are you talking about Home Owner's Associations? Management companies can be bad or good. Some, just take money for what a community can be doing such as collecting assessments, dues, etc. Management companies are expensive, but when the BOD are questionable, they normally are hired. So, it depends.........

Yes, HOA or POA would be the same. I'm looking for info concerning a management company's culpability versus that of an HOA or POA. Also wondered if one was actually more economical or productive in the long run than the other. From what I gather, the HOA/POA is the prevalent one.

In my opinion, management companeis are costly. They are usually brought in when the BOD need help. For instance one HOA pays a management company $2,000 a month to maintain a web site and collect dues. It all depends what you want a management company for. Do you need a company to got after delinquent accounts, etc. Consider consulting the attorney who represents the association for specific legal clarification. Good luck.

I'm still looking for the complexes that use a management company as opposed to relying solely on a BOD.
