This January we started with the new cost structure in PPL and our electric bill went to the sky... We were supposed to pick now our generator, but still cost is crazy.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Same thing happened in MD 3 or 4 years ago. Sorry no suggestions really. Electric is now bought and sold on the commodities market.

Some people are switching to Dominion for a ten percent discount. Read the fine print. We are staying with PP&L. Can you supplement the house with coal stove or pellet?????

We got our wood burning stove hooked back up and we keep it running night and day. Last bill was $500 and we have a small house. Crazy - We are replacing our floor heaters with oil filled wall heaters. Whatever it takes. We are taking out our fireplace and putting in a propane fireplace. We have added insulation, calked our windows and put in new storm doors. We also only keep two wall/floor heaters on, one in each of the bathrooms. We also put on new insulation for our pipes with the electric tape. We bought an Edenpure and put that on sometimes. Other than that we might get a second mortgage to pay for the heat !!!. After that we might sell the home. We will have given up. Oh and we requested a new meter in since our new bill is about $700.

Our bill last January was about 140. The one I just paid was 211, and we used about the same amount. It sucks to say the least...

Any stipulation that any company including Dominion states. It is just a habit that I have when switching to another company......I just mention to read the fine print and be aware of anything that a consumer is bound by contractually.
