Doherty eyes Lt. Gov. job as Democratic primary takes shape

Quote:
Discussions have taken place about Scranton Mayor Chris Doherty running for lieutenant governor instead of governor, and pairing his campaign with Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato's campaign for governor, three knowledgeable sources tell The Times-Tribune.

Doherty knows he doesn't have a chance at winning the Gov position. Lowering his sights to take the under wing spot, but in hopes of moving up to be the big cheese next time around. He won't have any of the unions backing him in this State that's for sure. Also lost a portion of the Catholic voting block.

Doherty cannot be let anywhere near state government. Just because the sheeple of Scranton were dumb enough to elect this clown 3 times, doesn't mean the entire state should have to deal with his borrow-and-spend 'restoring the pride" smoke and mirrors BS. This idiot would make even Rendell look like Abraham Lincoln.

Luckily, an Irish last name and marching in the St. Patty's Day Parade is not enough to get elected in a statewide election like it is in Scran'n.

People would like to see 'what' Doherty has actually 'done' to bring Scranton up out of the Act 47 status, how he runs his 'kingdom'. Doubtful they will like what they see. He has done some positive things but he has wasted millions of dollars that could have been allocated elsewhere where it was really needed.

He'd be called out on his failures by more experienced people and wouldn't stand a chance with his thin skin. The 'real' political hacks would eat him alive.

Why doesn't Doherty just go away and leave us all alone? He's proven he can't run the city and what makes him think that he can run the state?
