A neat place to go out to eat is Cooper's. It's a nice local place that is unique to our area. The Scranton Cultural Center offers shows and concerts as well.

I also love 'first night' which is the first Friday of every month in Scranton...lots going on...just fun to walk around, see the little side acts outside certain places, the art museums are all open, and there is a lot of 'people watching' to be had! Even the churches have something going on.....you an stop in a few bars ....and then go to the Hookah Bar!

While Coopers might be "interesting" to a visitor, those of us who lave lived here for decades will tell you that Coopers isnt what it used to be... years ago it was great, great food and service, now its merely trading on its name..the food is mediocre at best , especially for the price. Last time I was there I was served raw blackened catfish. the 2- or 3 times before was nothing to brag about either... I will say their deck partys are good though!!!

The robster is over cooked and chewy....The deck is nice, but the food is not.

The only thing Cooper's has going for it is a good craft beer selection....but you can get better seafood and cheaper at Red Lobster. It doesn't say much for a seafood place when the national chain has better seafood.

I saw that party deck in full swing once while driving by and it looked like a lot of fun! I was alone...so couldn't/wouldn't check it out. I'm too old to bust into a younger crowd all by myself!!! I need moral back-up
