My wife and I are flying out of Reagan National Airport this Friday evening and are trying to figure the best way to get to the airport and park the car. We were thinking about parking at Van Dorn Metro and catching the blue line to the airport.

Does anyone know how parking would probably be on Friday around 5:45-6:00PM? I assume the daily parking spots will be pretty empty by that point, correct? We would be parking till Monday evening when we return, is that allowed at the metro lots?

As you can tell, I'm rather new to the metro and figured I'd ask here instead of just showing up at the lot and finding out or getting the car towed if we aren't allowed to leave it over the weekend into the week.

Thanks,
Jim

I think you would be able to get a spot at that time. However, I don't think Van Dorn allows multi-day parking. I think Huntington does. The information should be on the Metro site here:
Metro - Rail - Parking.

Is it really much cheaper to park at the metro compared to just doing long term at Reagan? Or is it the drive to the airport that you're trying to avoid? Last time I checked the remote lots at DCA were only like $12/ day.

Metro parking would be $4.50 total, so yes, you save a lot.
