The whole place seems much safer now, and as bad as parking can be now, it used to be worse, especially when the Ames store was still there.
Here's an article from a few years back (2007) describing the evolution of Eden Center and the steps taken to improve safety there:

Yea, the pork chop with rice is real good. That's what I usually get when I go out there and don't want pho. The fish sauce goes good on almost any Vietnamese dish lol.

My friend showed me this other small restaurant tucked in the back corner to the right of the big clock nearest to the old Ames building that I never went to before. Don't remember the name though. Apparently they're really popular and well known for the dipping sauce they make for the spring rolls that were really freakin good, gonna have to hit up that place again.

Yea, used to be a bit of shady stuff goin on at Eden but the increased police force in all of NoVA has really gotten things under control. From what I know, it was usually stuff going on between different groups within the Vietnamese community. The old Multiplex in Merrifield used to have a lot of hispanic gangs too, like arm choppings with machetes and wild stuff...

I haven't been there in a while but I do recall there were quite a few pool halls there.

Whenever I read about prostitution in the area it doesn't involve Vietnamese. Usually Koreans, Latinas, and Anglas around here.
