We are moving to the Mt Vernon area of Alexandria, and need a dog kennel. Anyone have any good recommendations? Our dog is fairly spoiled, so we are looking for a place that has nice sized individual kennels, a large play area and a staff that is great towards dogs!

If you are looking for a temp place before you get into your house, which we needed while staying in billeting, I recommend a place on Rt 1..north of Belvoir, the name escapes me, but they were pretty good. Of course that was in 2001. The area wasn't great then either, but I was happy with the kennel. We didn't use them after we moved in, as it was away from the house.

Fort Hunt Animal Hospital is a good place. The staff there is really friendly and they hire local teens to constantly play with and exercise the dogs.
