We are relocating and looked at the following 2 complexes and loved the areas and metro proximity. I loved the Clarendon area, but the reviews of the apartment complex are not the greatest. The Pentagon City area was nice too, but I didn't like feeling like I lived next to a Walmart. I know that usually only the people with something negative to say are the ones who write reviews, but if you have any input or experience please chime in.

The complex we loved in Clarendon is the Residences at Market Common. Loved the area, proximity to the metro, had a more suburbs feel, felt like the most spacious, reviews say noise is a problem, not the greatest amenities

The complex in Pentagon City was the Metropolitan at Pentagon City. Loved the proximity to the metro, great amenities, awesome gym, the park across the street, didn't love the age of the building or the costco and best buy parking lot across the street.

Any other tips?

Either area is great. Personally, living that close to the costco parking lot would be awesome--then you can walk to costco and not have to deal with parking (That's what I did when I lived in Crystal City). Noise shouldn't be a complaint at night--costco closes at a decent time and things die down around the mall.

I would take all those reviews with a grain of salt. Only the angriest of people post there--the majority of people probably have no major issues with the place beyond the usual apartment living complaints.

Yeah I would also see the proximity to shopping as a plus. CaliTerp is correct- the area is pretty dead at night. Some might see that as a negative but, at least noise at all hours should not be a problem.

I'm surprised you were concerned about the age of the building. Isn't it less than 10 years old?

You're right, I should specify. Not the age of the building, more the look of the appliances and kitchen. They are not up to par with what I have seen in the newer places.
