Hi all!

We're new to Reston and looking for a good place to watch some college football. We are Georgia and Florida State fans, so, we'd like to go where other fans of our team are. Does anyone know where these groups meet?

My husband would like to watch the Georgia/Kentucky game tomorrow night and is willing to watch at a Kentucky bar, if need be. We don't have Comcast - so we won't be able to watch at home.

Thanks!!

You might check if there's a meetup group around there for those. Most bars should have the games on.

Try the alumni associations in DC -- they may be able to tell you where a group meets.

I belong to the metro area Florida State alum group. They meet to watch the games. You can get more info at :

The FSU Seminole Club of Greater Washington DC

LOL, I was raised in Tallahassee, but I married a gator who then went to Tennessee for grad school. My family is half 'noles and half gator. The 'noles are having a good year

Yes, we are!! I have almost forgot what it's like to be ranked!

I could have never married a Gator - LOL - You are one brave woman! They are sore winners and sore losers, I'm just sad we left the Jacksonville area without being able to enjoy some of the Gator sadness.

I have looked online, and finally found the the D.C. area alumni groups, (thank you gingerbreadgirl!). FSU has a bye week this week, so, it's easy for me. The tricky thing about this particular week, catching the UGA/UK game is that it's being aired on Comcast Sports Station, so, if the bar doesn't have cable, but rather, Directv or Dish, we can't see the game there either. I can do the legwork, I am just wondering if there are any good/fun places (in the Reston area) to watch the game.

My family has the 'nole/gator rivalry too...different dynamics though, my brother and I went to FSU, my dad is a U of F alum. And I grew up just blocks from the University of Miami, we always went to their football games since it was local.

Football season was always lively in our family! I miss Bobby Bowden, but we do seem to be doing pretty well this season.

How 'bout Dem Dawgs?!?

I sorely missed SEC football when we lived in Northern Virginia. I hope you find someplace to watch the game. We paid an extra $200+ dollars every fall to get the SEC games while we lived there. Folks up there just don't understand that football is a religion in the deep south. I learned Hotty Toddy before I could walk!

I married a Dawg. It's been a disappointing season for Georgia. I'm hoping they DESTROY the Gators next week!

We moved to Jacksonville, Florida a few months ago. I thought I would be right in the middle of the damn "Gator Nation". Turns out there are a LOT of Georgia fans here.

Can't help you out with a bar but I hope your Dawgs beat up Kentucky as a Louisville metro area resident.
