Has anyone ever purchased a car from Stohlman Volkswagen? If so, what was your experience with them like?

My fiance bought from them about five years ago. He shopped around and was actually looking for a different brand of car but stopped by the dealership on a whim and said the service he received there helped to make his decision easy. He still gets all of his maintenance work done there (although it isn't the most convenient to where we live now). I can ask him if he remembers his salesperson if you'd like.

I didn't buy from them, but I prefer their service department to the one out in sterling.

Thanks for your feedback. If you could ask your husband about the salesperson, I would really appreciate it.

When we were shopping for a VW a few years back we went by Stohlman. They seemed disinterested in doing much to sell us a car. However the people at Lindsay (near Dulles) were great. We've continued to get our car serviced there and have always had a good experience with them.

That all being said, I wouldn't buy another VW. Their quality just isn't what it should be given the price.

Totally agreed. I LOVE my Beetle, but I have vowed never to buy another VW after I put this one to rest.

It's too bad, because we really like our Passat. But as soon as the warranty is up, we're getting rid of it. It has had a couple thousand dollars in repairs -- which fortunately we didn't have to pay for -- on stuff that shouldn't have failed.
