It's an old, lightly developed resort that dates back to 1892. It was named "Midgetville" because of the farmer's market that was held there. Today, the cabins/houses are crumbling because the family who owns it can't afford the upkeep. It's most likely going to be redeveloped into a planned urban community, similar to what Ballston/Clarendon have become.

The owners get very angry when they catch trespassers. A pastime of local teenagers has been to race along the dirt roads throwing eggs and garbage at the old houses, trying to harrass the supposed "midgets."
I remember my brother and his friends talking about going there when he was in HS back aroung 1976.

52. If you stay on the same road long enough, it will eventually have 3 new names.
You have no idea how hard it is giving directions from McLean to Tysons. Get on Chain Bridge, right on Anderson, then get on Dolley Madison, but then that turns into Chain Bridge, get off at Tysons Blvd, right on Galleria, which turns into Westpark... but if you go till it turns into Gosnell or Old Court House road then you've gone too far.

Galleria/Westpark/Gosnell/Old Courthouse - thats right, 4 name changes within 3 miles.

OH ! EDIT I forgot it turns into Gallows road after about another 1 mile drive.

Tysons is McLean, to the north of 7.

When your inside the beltway friends don't come to visit you in Fairfax County because it's too far for them to drive.
...and Reston may as well be California and Leesburg is Hawaii

You know you're in NOVA when you live in a good school district, yet everyone still goes to a different school.

You know you're in NOVA when kids start organized sports when they are 4!

You know you're in NOVA when there is a 1year waiting list for preschool

You know you're in NOVA when the speed limit is more of a guideline

You know you're in NOVA when people treat speed bumps like the Dukes of Hazard Cousins would!

You know your'e in NOVA when people think your kids is a failure because they are not in the advanced placement class

You know you're from NoVA when you go back to visit the Middle America state you grew up in, and you're shocked (as in reverse sticker-shock) at the billboards advertising "New homes from the 300s."
