I need to replace the carpet throughout my house. In the past, my homes were empty. Now, I have a lot a furniture and need a company that will be careful and not damage the furniture. I would like a company that does not subcontract the work out. Any recommendations? Stay away from? What were your experiences?

They all subcontract the work. Even if they don't say it, it will be in the documents that you sign. It has to do with insurance and liability issues. There are subcontractors that only work for one particular store, so that store has a lot of influence over than to make sure the work is done well.

The stores list all installers as subcontractors. That way they don't have to pay soc sec on the workers or unemployment.

Any recommendations? I have to have the carpeting in my townhouse replaced in the next few weeks....no furniture with the exception of a tv, sofa, and air mattress, lol.
