Has anyone here tried that new Mokomandy Restaurant? It's suppsoed to have Korean/Cajun/Creole cuisine. What is that? Kimchee-and-crawdad dishes? Or, something else? I'm having a hard time picturing it, but it does sound intriguing.

That is an interesting combination. Seafood plays a prominent role in Korean cuisine, so maybe that's the connection/fusion.

But the name sounds like "Mork and Mindy" to me. Nanu-nanu!

I haven't been, but the Washingtonian gave it a pretty favorable mini-review last month: First Look: Mokomandy - Best Bites Blog (washingtonian.com)

Sterling's pretty inconvenient for me, but I am always up for driving long distances for food that's good!

The menu was just too weird for us to want to try. Can't remember what it was but I guess it is the lasting impression that counts...haven't gone and doubt we will. That being said, I hope they do well.

I'm adding it to my list now; Korean and Cajun sounds like an interesting combo of foods, I like each style of cuisine separately so I'll give it a shot.

Mokomandy showcases both Korean and Cajun cuisines side-by-side on the menu. Mokomandy stands for Modern Korean by Mandy. Mandy is the owner's mom, she is from Mamou, LA. His dad is from South Korean. Mokomandy showcases this unique story. Growing up the owner had both cuisines represented, never mixed. That is what Mokomandy strives to do, have a duet of two cuisines not typically found together in one restaurant. I hope you check out the website, Mokomandy - Modern. Korean. Cajun, and the the restaurant. (Full disclosure: I work for Mokomandy)
