Again, thank you everyone for your feedback. It is helping me tremendously. My son will have to finish school early this year so we can PCS. He plays football, basketball, and soccer so hopefully we will be able to find these sports for both boys to get involved in. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I haven't even begun to look for a job myself. I am hoping to land something on the base since I work on the base in Japan. I am in the adult education field so I pray it isn't a difficult task to continue employment once I get there. I will look into the programs suggested and pop back in to let you guys know how it goes.

Again, if anyone knows a good realtor please share the info.

Default I think I have it but I just need a little more help please!!!

Hello everyone,

Okay, I have been doing a ton of research and think I have it down. It looks like Stafford is our best bet. Its within good distance from the base and my son would likely get to go to Colonial Forge High School, which is where I really want him to go. It looks like zip code 22554 would be the zoning for that school, but every listing pops up North Stafford HS. Since they are closed for transfer students, how would I know where to look for a rental to make sure he is zoned for this school? It appears that Widewater Village, Austin Ridge, Park Ridge, and Port Aquia are good places to start but none of them barely had Colonial Forge as the zoned schools. What are your thoughts on this? Do I need to broaden my search or what? My husband is leaving next week so I really need to give him some direction so he knows exactly what to look for. Thank you again for all your help and I look forward to your responses.

Default Aquia Harbour living information?

Hello all,

I would like to know any and all information regarding the gated community of Aquia Harbour. I have never been inside as I do not know anyone. All I know is what I read on the HOA regarding all the ammenities. We are looking for a planned community with such. We have two children so schools are important as well. If anyone that lives within the community could tell us of their past and present experience with the HOA pro's con's.....are the ammenities kept up and the common grounds. We would love to have a family friendly neighborhood with lots of kids around and things to do. We lived in Stafford a coupld of years back and lived in Vista Woods sub and my 1 daughter attended Garrisonville ES......loved that school...great ratings...I miss it as well. There was no HOA but no ammenities....however, you could make your backyard your own oasis without asking others for permission. We are at a crossroads so any info is helpful.

Thank you in advance.

You people should really quit piggy backing on older posts. Try a search to see if there is already topics that will answer your question although I know the search feature is far from perfect. Otherwise start a separate topic so we'll know there is a question out there we can possibly help on.

Both are good areas. I prefer Fredericksburg over Stafford but either works well. Keep in mind that the commute can be pretty bad coming from the south to Quantico. If you're not locked into this area you may want to consider areas in PWC. Particularly places along Rt 234 (Dumfries Rd) as there are some nice communities here and this is a reverse commute.
