In between the shovelling and the driving, don't forget to have some fun with this snow. This wet snow is the perfect for building humongous snow men. Or, in my yard.... a giant snow bunny with big ears!

The kids here had a big snowball fight down the street last night. I didn't play but it was fun to watch. I suppose today will be all about finding the perfect sledding hill.

We just came in from sledding in the backyard. We built a nice jump at the end of the driveway and slid right into the woods. Just drying out the clothing and will be heading out again Love snow days!

sledding was great. our yard has a tiny hill but since the snow is more like ice we flew down that sucker fast! Even hired someone to clean the drive so I could play instead.

Dozens of kids are out sledding on the hill near me. The snow has been a PITA, but now that it's (mostly) cleared it sure is pretty. There's nothing like the sight of kids sledding, blue skies and bright sunlight and shadows on fresh snow.

Looks like there was a huge snowball fight in DC last night. They were showing it on the news. There was one bizarro guy running around wearing a cape!

My son and his roommates built a huge snowman! Very cool. Western Loudoun does a great job of constantly clearing the roads and adding lots of sand and salt, but the big yards still provide space for sled riding and snow forts! The kids are really enjoying it!

They're already out sledding this morning. It was a funny sight to see on the way to work. I guess they must have popped out of bed and headed right out to play.

My daughter and I had a hard time building a snowman yesterday. the top of the snow was iced over at our house so we couldn't roll a ball. She couldn't even make a snow angel, she is so light she couldn't break that top layer of ice when lying down. Instead, we build a snow dog (kind of a Sphinx-like creature). She was able to sled well though on that top layer of ice, even when there wasn't much of a hill.
