There are lots of shops in Old Town Alexandria where you will find that, particularly along King St. Unfortunately a really good one that specialized in your specific area went out of business a while back but there are plenty of others along there. Take an afternoon and stroll up and back. There are also some really good places along there to get something to eat including Majestic Cafe, Vermillion, and Pizza Paradiso.

There's an Ethopian art shop on King Street. You might miss it if you're not looking as its on a basement floor. Look on the 1300 block of King Street. It's the building just before the small used car lot.

Try Adams Morgan. I was up there recently and passed one on the main strip. It was amongst pubs, restaurants, and a Middle Eastern art shop.
