I think a kid would enjoy it, but the length could be a little much. When I saw it in NYC and Chicago, there was a lot of reading involved at times--marquee signs were a large part of the jokes. If he can't keep up, it would be frustrating.

It is rather loud and small children might find the tall, dark blue, alien-looking people to be a bit creepy. Sometimes that type of stuff can bother some children.

It is a great show though and is very entertaining. The music is awesome and there are several funny parts of the show as well. If your kids aren't bothered by the volume of the show and the performers being a bit odd looking, then I think they'd have a fantastic time.
