There are some condo buildings around the Dunn Loring Metro in your price range. Wilton House comes to mind and there are a couple more right next to it - all walking distance to Dunn Loring.

It's only a 10 minute metro ride to Ballston, which is going to be faster than walking two miles or waiting for buses.

I actually live in Wilton House right now. I have been not impressed with management, though the place is nice and clean and super convenient. There are only short sales available, which anyone can tell you, is almost not worth the hassle.

Does anyone have any good ideas for orange/blue line affordable sub 280k condos that are walking distance to the metro? With a garage?

Would you say overall that you recommend living there? Someone is renting their condo and I was thinking about taking a look. The prices are obviously nicer than in Ballston/Clarendon, but Dunn Loring is oh so boring.

Thanks

i bought a studio in rosslyn for just over 200k in Sept 2009. There hasn't been a studio in my building to hit the market for a long time now.

all the 1 bedrooms are going for 400k+ in my building.

in the area you are looking for you will more than likely have to get a studio for your price range because one beds along the orange line will start in the high 300's for the most part
