I just read that today is National Eggs Benedict Day and now I'm hungry for some. Sounds like something good to have on a rainy day.

So.... any suggestions of a good place to go?

I'm going to be down in Alexandria this morning, so a place near there would be good. Or somewhere between Alexandria and Loudoun that I can hit on the way home.

You could stop at my house. They are a specialty here.

Good luck finding anything like that on a Saturday around here. That's Sunday brunch fare. If you had said tomorrow I'd suggest this place:

219 Restaurant the best french place in Old Town, VA

Not in Alexandria but you can get good eggs benedict anytime of the day 7 days a week at Luna Grill in the Village at Shirlington.

You may be home by now but I'm pretty sure you can get them at Silver Diner. You can order breakfast any time there.

I would go to the Amphora and have one of their specialty versions of Eggs Benedict. My favorite is the one with smoked salmon. I think they serve them until 3:00 on weekends.

Eggspectation has a couple of locations - Chantilly, Gainesville, Leesburg, maybe others, I'm not sure. Kind of expensive for eggs, but they have eggs benedict.

Amphora's where we ended up. BTW, this place needs to be added to the list of classic local diners. I love the egg dishes here. I'm also a huge fan of their lamb, and the french toast. The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and knows their regular customers, and the food is filling. Also, the desserts are amazing.
