You'll need to give a lot more info. What defines "good"? Schools? Walkability? Ease of access to public transportation? Crime statistics?

Sorry!! I am new to this!
Not so worried about the school -- no kids! Somewhere safe, obviously. Would be able to go for a walk and not have to carry a bat! Looking to spend less that $300k. Doesn't have to be big -- but at least two bedrooms. I work in Alx (king street metro area) and would love to be closer than where I live now -- took me an hour and half to get in!!

Take a look at Palazzo at Park Center (22311 zip)...Nice, newer condos in a safe area. There's a 2 br/2ba listed at $239,000 right now.

Kingstowne is a nice, newer planned development, you should be able to find a condo there on your budget. Parts of it are walkable to stores, movie theater etc.

Occassionally, you can find a small 2 bdr in North Old Town or South Old Town (off Washington Street) for under $300,000. For example, here's a 700 sq ft two bedroom in North Old Town (
Moderator Cut ). From there, you could take the DASH (AT) 2 or walk four blocks to the DASH AT 5. (here's the website for DASH -
DASH: Welcome Aboard! ) Depending on how much walking you like, you may even be able to walk to work.
For more space, more amenities, or a lower price you'll need to look to the western parts of the City. Most of the DASH lines go to King Street Metro, but if you want seven day a week service, look for a place on the AT 2, 5, 8, or 10.
