I am moving to Oakton this summer. Does anybody have any recommnedations for preschools in Oakton or Vienna for a 3 year old? I am looking for just a half day program 3 or 4 days a week. Church affiliated schools would be okay. Thank you in advance for recommendations.

We sent my 2 kids to Vienna Presbyterian Church's pre-school and both had wonderful experiences. Very caring teachers and nice facilities. VPC is right off of Maple Ave/Rt 123 in Vienna.

Popular preschools in Vienna:

Wesley Preschool
Holy Comforter
Parkwood
Vienna Baptist (co-op)
Vienna Pres.
Meekins (co-op)
Emmanuel Lutheran
Hunter Mill Country Day
Andrews Chapel (co-op)

I have three children and have been to three of the preschools listed above and was happy with all of them. I have friends who have gone to the others listed, and they have been happy as well. Many of the schools will be full. Some will not. I predict that Vienna Baptist will have openings as will Parkwood and maybe Emmanuel Lutheran (which is closest to Oakton). Not sure of the others, but it's worth a call to all of them and to get on their waitlists. There are slight differences among the schools - some have more of a religious bent, some take younger kids, some are co-op, some have different hours, some offer lunch bunch, etc. If you have specific questions about any of them, I'd be happy to try to help out. Also, a great resource is the Vienna Moms Club (VMI). It might be worth joining to meet other moms in the area. I belonged for 9 years and just dropped out this year since my kids are getting older. But, it's a great group, especially for those new to the area.
