Hi All,

I have got a job in 14th street NW in DC area and I am a resident of Parkcrest circle, Reston ( North). Please suggest me the best possible option for a daily commute via bus and metro. My office timings would be typically starting from 9.00am-5.30pm. Pls suggest asap.

Fairfax Connector (whichever line runs down Wiehle Avenue) to West Falls Church. Orange Line from there to McPherson Square.

Agreed. My husband works in DC and currently lives in McLean. He does the bus/metro thing and it works great for him. We cannot imagine why anyone would want to drive in that mess! Also, the government reimburses for the bus/metro but no other means of travel. Do you work for the federal government? If so, you might want to check to see if they pay for this mode of travel as well.

I got off track, but what I was wanting to say was that we are moving to Herndon and he will still be doing the bus/metro deal. I wish that I could do that same for my job!

I agree, too. Looks as though either the 552 or 554 would work-

My commute is similar and it usually takes just under 1 hour (a bit longer coming home).

Hi,

My husband and I are moving to NOVA and are considering buying a condo on Parkcrest Circle. How do you like the neighborhood? Any issues with the trail running through the neighborhood or the 7-11 nearby? Do you like the building quality of your unit?

Thanks for any insight!

Hi Miami -- I've never lived in Parkcrest, but I looked there for a condo and eventually rented in Reston for several years. I have, however, heard that Parkcrest condos are very noisy. If you are going to live on the top floor, I think you'll be fine. If you are going to have someone on top of you, that might be something to consider. This is a bit graphic, but a friend who lived in Parkcrest said her neighbor upstairs (pregnant at the time) had terrible morning sickness. My friend could actually hear her vomit every morning -- that is how thin the walls are.

The area, overall, is really nice. The 7/11 has no effect on the development, and being next to the trail is a bonus. You're also close to the Town Center, as well.
