I will be in the area for a few days and would like to know where's the best place(s) to go school shopping for my children that's not too expensive? Thanks!

Ditto on the outlet stores in Leesburg.. why shop any where else? lol

I was getting my hair cut the other day and I mentioned to the stylist that I hadn't been to the mall in Fairfax yet. She laughed at me. I said, "But I've been to the outlets in Leesburg several times."

Another vote for Kohls - they recently had a special on little boy clothes. I was able to get a pair of pants and a shirt for $18. I also got some good deals for my older son. On top of that, I used my Kohl's card and I got a scratch off coupon for 20% off of my entire purchase. I'm not sure if that particular special is still going on or not.

Target, Walmart and JC Penney are also good places to look.

If you have time for this, go to places like Marshalls, you might find some good deals. Also the department stores have good deals every once in awhile. But your best bet is to wait 2-3 weeks AFTER schools starts to find the best deals. Maybe get them one new outfit to last through the first day of school and just wait for sales. Good luck!

We can always find good sales at Kohl's. We usually go to the one at Minnieville and Smoketown Rd. in Woodbridge. Those scratch off coupons that SpringfieldVA mentioned, or the "peel back" coupons come in handy too!
