I financed through Toyota and just received my title. Do I need to make a visit to DMV and do I need to pay any fees or taxes?

Unless things have changed, the answer is no, you don't have to go to the DMV. Nor do you have to pay any fees or taxes---well, except the annual car tax that all car owners in VA have to pay.

I would confirm with insurance company that Toyota has been dropped as a lienholder.

Congratulations! I just paid off my Volkswagen and the DMV sent me my title TODAY. I financed through Navy Federal Credit Union and they didnt mention I had to do anything else besides keep my title in a safe location.

Is it a VA title ? Is it in your name? Does it just have a Lienholder execution ?

You should remeber that when you dispose of the car you need a clean local title - if it is all of those things you are fine

Keep all the papers relating to the release of the lien in case you want to sell the vehicle and you have lost your title and need to replace it. Just in case.

Thanks for this thread. I just remember now I needed to go to DMV to change the title. I got my title from Toyota too an year ago and I meant to go to DMV to change the name on the title to my name as the loan has been paid off.
