Has anyone else noticed the paltry collection of calendars available this year? Am I just going to the wrong places? Maybe it's because Borders closed----they were 'calendar central' for years. I went to Barnes & Noble in Springfield but wasn't impressed with the little they had. Any other stores out there with a decent collection?

Try Michaels Arts & Crafts. They had a whole bunch last year -- everything from cupcakes, birds, X-men, sports cars, landscapes, etc. Won't be on their website though.

There's a calendar store at Dulles Town Center. I would imagine some of the other malls have them too.

My favorite local calendar is the one given away by Merrifield Garden Center. Gorgeous photos, and often a few good tips. They have stacks of them near the cash register, and usually there are lots of coupons for the first few months of the upcoming year, as well.

I usually have a big stack of free calendars by now, but this year not too much. One company requests that if I wanted a free 2012 calendar I go to their website and download it. Guess everybody's cutting back.

I went to the B&N at Potomac Yards last week on my lunch break to pick up some calendars and was disappointed with the paltry selection up near the cafe & front door. Finally settled on a couple and was standing in line and looking around, and there was a HUGE calendar section near the far wall and behind a couple of rows of shelving. The B&N in 7 Corners didn't have such a good selection, but it's a far smaller store than Potomac Yards.

Lol!

Didn't realize this was common problem - I actually was planning a trip to Dulles Town Center to see if they had that calendar kiosk in the middle of some floor. I think it was Fair Oaks that had/has an empty store dedicated to calendars during the season.

But first, I thought I'd be smart and order one online this year - my daughter is a BIG fan of Hayao Miyazaki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayao_Miyazaki and his various anime cartoons so I thought "Gee, I wonder if they have a calendar of HIS stuff?"...well, I found one:

Gack!

So...did I mention that I thought I'd check out Dulles Town Center for a fox calendar?...

Landmark Mall - I realize it's a crappy mall but because of that... one of those calendar places opened up in there.

I think there's a store upstairs, somewhere near Nordstroms/Sears. I'm not sure if the Kiosk is operating this year since they have the store.

Just got back from Fair Oaks Mall - there's a calendar store in section C, 2nd floor, called Go! Calendars; it has quite a good selection.

See the Directory for the exact location: http://www.shopfairoaksmall.com/dire...!_calendar#map
