Tons of great food trucks in Arlington, Ballston to Rosslyn. I've eaten at many, and they've been great. The food can be better than what a lot of the sit down eating establishments are serving for lunch. People who haven't eaten at this new generation of food trucks must be picturing the old school little food carts.but they are no where close. When the lobster roll truck is in Rosslyn the line goes around the block.

And because they have a building and a sign on the front that says Applebees - you think it's any safer?

They have company standards set to maintain sanitation and the state and local county health inpsectors make routine unannounced vistis to do inspections. The fact is most of the kitchens in chain resturants are highly sanitary believe it or not.. even McDonalds. I am sure these trucks have to have health inspections as well but I still wonder about them and their standards. (ie:wearing gloves and hair nets, cross contaimination, washing procedures ect.)

I have a fairly weak stomach but I've never had a problem when I've eaten from the food trucks out in Rosslyn. There's a halal meat truck where I get lamb over rice about once a week, and I've never had an issue. Rosslyn also has regular truck appearances from District Taco, a Korean truck, a lobster roll truck, BBQ truck and philly cheese truck, and a few cupcake trucks.

Sounds like the same ones that come atound my office bldg at lunchtime (DC). Although I have also seen Mexican, Peruvian, Greek, and a yogurt truck. I think they're great in an area when lunch-food establishments are limited. Although I have heard some restauranters complaining about them (taking business away).

Eh, I worked at a McDonalds in High School. You don't want to know what goes on in the back...

Not sure if you've traveled overseas, but I've had some delicious food at street vendors. I've also got a 3rd world immune system so I can handle just about anything

I think we don't have many food trucks because of our climate. In Cali/Texas they can sustain a food truck year round. I don't want to freeze my testies just so I can eat in a parking lot...
