I had the most relaxing day today (which I desperately needed!) - put on a swimsuit (that's another story), lay on my lounge chair and read...loved it! I am officially going to pack up the heavy sweaters, suede shoes, boots, etc. - just hoping it's not 300+ by August. I REALLY, REALLY want to plant flowers in my planters on the front porch - think it's safe? And what would you plant now? I actually put the herbs I'd overwintered out on the back deck quite awhile ago and they are doing well (the ones that made it: Mint, Chives, Parsley, Thyme)

Did some mulching. It felt like mid-May! What kinds of flowers do you want? Do you want annuals? Obviously pansies can take a cold snap well.

It's really too early to start planting...this is a good time to get your beds cleaned out...weeds pulled, etc....but, I, too, was on my deck sunning, with a book! LOVE this weather! I think I'm a "tropical" girl at heart. I do NOT like cold, rain, snow or wind!

Keep a few pair of long pants and a few 3/4 sleeve length shirts handy...this is NOT the start of summer! But, summertime is calling me!

Has anyone been to the tidal basin yet? Are the trees in blossom? We were thinking of going this weekend, if they are. We like to go the week before it hits peak (and before the tourists are wall to wall). But, no point in going if the trees are in bloom at all.

It will probably snow at least twice before the end of April.

I was hoping for some snow, but given the lack of real Winter weather this year, I'm looking forward to some real Summer weather. Bring it on!

It's spring/early summer in my mind too, but with Kate Upton in a bikini in my back yard
