We're meeting friends tomorrow to first have lunch and then visit the National Museum of the Marines -- but we don't have a clue where to eat.

We're trying to find something relatively close, moderately priced.

Any ideas?

And thanks!!

Can't get much more convenient

I just took my nephews and niece there last week and they seemed to have a good time. I thought they may be a little young, but they didn't seem to mind. Ages were 4, 6, 8 and 12. They liked playing with the interactive exhibits.

It might be too late to comment, but if Tun Tavern doesn't work for you then you're only 15 minutes south of the Potomac Mills Mall area. There are tons of restaurants there to pic. About 10 minutes away is a Wegmans with a buffet bar, or the other restaurants in that shopping center.

It would be cool if the museum would sell MREs to the tourists, so they can eat how Marines eat. And enjoy the same reported aftereffects! (Warning: The following link is crude and gross but not really NSFW: Terminal Lance - Terminal Lance #168 “When You Eat It…” )

Do you like Cracker Barrel? There is one right off Rt 1 and Rt 234, about 5 miles north of the museum. A little farther up Rt 234, there is a Panera, Five Guys, and Jerry's Subs in the Target shopping center. These would be quite a bit closer than the Wegman's area.
