Man, if I ever have to type more than 1-2 sentences I wait till I get back to a real computer, haha. It takes me forever since I end up having to correct about half my words.

Exclusivity...that's what I was looking for. We use the generic type general resumes as well on bids (i.e. 2 engineers with a master of whatever...3 etc..) but the only people we have sign the agreements are consultants, especially if they have knowledge of our company. We hire on "bluesky" contingent contracts but never tell them they can't apply anywhere else. The good people know exactly who else is bidding. That is who we want.

This could be as someone else pointed out...preying on the naive. Or maybe OP didn't get the full story.

I agree take the bird in hand..and then maybe switch to the other company later.
