Anybody know if the Franconia-Springfield lot fills up on the weekends and if so how early?

That's why its appealing. Were maybe just traveling to Arlington Cemetary and parking there would cost less tha metro fare, but if we want to get dinner after its probably easier not to have to park then.

yea you have the premise correct. For 1 stop back and forth on a weekend I almost never suggest metro (though F-S to Arlington Cemetery is one I have previously just because of the ease of that ride). If you want to do multiple trips its just a hassle, finding parking for dinner is always a pain that will end up costing atleast 8 bucks, etc. And no one likes dealing with DC streets with street lights and pedestrians and it takes forever to go one block :P

So yea, dinner in the city or Arlington I'd suggest metro, otherwise shoot up 95.
