Any advice re: traffic, best routes, parking at WFC or EFC, etc would be much appreciated. I'd be traveling during rush hour with my child, so 66E is also a possibility. Thank you in advance.

I grew up in the McLean area, though it was throughout my youth and high school, so I wasn't "commuting" through the area. Does the town really get backed up that badly? Couldn't you just drive through McLean over to Westmoreland Street or Great Falls Street and take it down to West Falls Church? I wouldn't think of that as an oppressive commute.

From your area, I don't think 495 south would be too bad, but 66 East could be a problem, even if you're only on it for 1 mile. I'd just go through town.

Forget about EFC, unless you are prepared to leave very early. The parking lot is tiny and fills up fast.

You could drive to WFC in about 15-20 minutes, depending upon whether you manage to beat the school traffic at the various schools along your route.

But the quickest and most direct route might be driving in on the GW Parkway. Again, depending upon the time you leave. But it also takes time to drive to the Metro, park your car, walk to the platform, and wait for the train, and travel to Union Station.
