Hey guys,

I currently live in Fairfax, and I started a new job in Ballston. My lease is about to end, and I was considering moving to Herndon. I was wondering which is worse, driving through I-66, or the Dulles toll road? I work regular business hours, and I am currently forced to carpool becuase of the restrictions in I-66. I just want to know which of the two has the worse traffic, and which rout would you preffer. Thanks!

I66 most definately has the worst traffic, by far. But, you have to pay for the Toll Road.

Another thing to think about, though, is that you can't get any closer than Tysons (on a highway) coming from the Toll Road if you are the only person in the car. The HOV rules still apply. You'll have to take back roads from 123.

I suggest a rental in W. McLean or Lee Highway in Arlington or FC. Farther from Metro = lower rent.

Thanks for all the responses. I decided to just stay in Fairfax for another year until they finish building the metro station in Reston. Then, I'll buy a house in Ashburn.
