TJ is better known around here for its robotics team than its tacos.

Oh, you mean the south-of-the-border TJ? Never mind.

Sorry for butting in, but could not resist this thread because when i visitied the area as a kid waaaay back in "75 "76 and "77 ( my father was from around Lexington) one of the reasons we would return promptly Arizona at summers end was primarily tacos....more to the point the utter non existence of Mexican Food of any sort......seriously we couldnt even BUY tortillas and green chiles were so exotic my mother once drew a sketch on a napkin in a grocery store produce aisle, so the gentleman would know what it was she was trying to get!!

Those summers were unforgettable to me to this day I haunt these forums trying to capture the sights and people that I have never forgotten. Its good to know that when my husband and kids come visit next year, I neednt worry about taco withdrawl , NOVA has now got it covered!! *sighs*

That's odd. My wife went to college in New Mexico and she swears by Anitas.

And they do use authentic Hatch green chilies.

The last time I went they had Anaheims.

I was severely disappointed. While they are good they aren't truly New Mexican.

I lived a long time in the El Paso/Las Cruces area and have roasted thousands of Hatches. There's nary a hatch pepper in Nova.
