I'm considering buying a condo in the Mayflower Square complex, near Quantrell Ave / Armistead Street, just off Beauregard, a stone's throw from Duke St / Little River Turnpike. The price is pretty good and the building seems clean and well-maintained, although it's obviously a working class development. The only major problem seems to be no in-unit washer dryer units. And I worry that with so many condos and apartment buildings in the neighborhood, renting it out later as an investment property might not be enough to pay the mortgage & condo fees.

Does anyone have personal experience about the safety and makeup of the neighborhood? The property values? Thanks in advance.

I'm not familiar with them but if you check the crime reports, Quantrell Ave. and surrounding comes up quite alot.

I use to live in Mayflower Square II for 4 years. My building was nice and clean (accept for the laundry room where a homeless man lived and popped daily). Towards the end of my stay, I noticed mice droppings. Then some neighbors complained about catching mice daily. There was an infestation of roaches and bed bugs. Nice neighborhood, not much crime that I noticed, but bugs and rodents were a problem for me.

It's a pretty safe neighborhood. It's very ethnically diverse too.

I lived in Mayflower over 30 years and never once had any crime or vandalism occur against me. If you want to live in an absolutely fascinating neighborhood with people from all walks of life, this is a great place. Or you can stay to yourself and people leave you alone. The crime rates on Quantrell have little to do with Mayflower itself but are closer to the 7-11 area.

there are not mice in mayflower. After they built the fancy expensive overpriced townhomes next door they disrupted the earth and for a little while mice came the way of Mayflower but depending on where you are located in Mayflower, mice have never been a problem. and bed bugs, you have to be kidding me. There is no infestation of bedbugs in Mayflower Square. Lord have mercy on people spreading vile things
