Considering a job change....would like to know which industries in VA (closer to DC and its suburbs) pay the best performance bonus. Any actual figures would be just as useful.

I think it depends more on the company, than what type of company. Even within companies of the same type bonus plans can vary greatly.

Adding some clarification to my original question. My background is in Banking, but not a trader. I have been with compliance and Project Management, so at times my skill set is housed under technology. Currently work in Manhattan, where bonus is the most important component in decision making.

Now coming to my move either to DC or Charlotte. Iam trying to find if Banking is a thriving sector in DC and is the bonus component comparable to NYC. (My research showed only one known player - Capital One besides which I dont know if there are others in DC). Iam also open to other sectors which might pay performance related bonus at the end of the year. So if anyone can provide further inputs that would be fantastic.
