Hi there,

I have a question. I may move to work near the King Street Metro in a couple of weeks if all goes well. I am a single female in my early 30s. It will be for a few months so I'm interested in finding an affordable share with a decent commute. I enjoy working out, eating healthy, and have a bike. I'd love to find a church to attend as well. I'm used to diverse churches that think like Joel Osteen. I'm single and some of the things I'd enjoy doing are attending tech talks, gatherings, hiking, volunteering, exploring museums, listening to live Jazz, volunteering, etc.

like to have fun with mature folks, volunteer, and explore the NOVA area. I have lived among white Americans, Koreans, Indians, Carribeans , and African-Americans. I am mixed black person.

Thanks everyone have a great day!

I suggest searching for shares on Craigslist. I see one listing for a share that's available for May - August 15.

I like to refer to Northern Virginia as "the United Nations" and Alexandria is no exception. Alexandria is also pretty bike-friendly as well.

King Street between the Metro and the waterfront is the main drag of the city (although there's plenty happening on many side streets) and has a laid-back, mature nightlife vibe. Not really any clubs so much as restaurants, and resto-bars where a live act or DJ may sometimes play. The Clarendon neighborhood in Arlington offers more of a party atmosphere although it skews a bit younger. And then, of course, there's always DC.

I admit to not being the expert on houses of worship but I see a newish congregation called DC Metrochurch getting a lot of positive press lately; it's located walking distance from the Braddock Road Metro, just one stop north from King Street.

Depending on your budget, finding an apartment/house share shouldn't be too difficult. It's actually fairly normal for many 20-30somethings (and sometimes older) around here, given the high cost of living.

Hi and thanks to Hokiefan and Tone509,

I found a good place right in the area so I can walk to work. And right in the nick of time. I will check out DC Metro and dig through other reviews to see about H.O.W.
