What are you alls thoughts on this neighborhood? The part East of Columbia Pike and South of Route 7. Lot of SFH on huge lots. Prices aren't too bad. Im wondering what other people think of this area as I am a bit biased (I grew up there but it is very different than back when I was there)

I'm currently doing a large addition to my house out there and wanted to get some other opinions on the neighborhood.

That area is under-valued in the long run. I always thought it would be a good place to raise kids -- flat, nice size yards, quiet streets. The proposed trolly will run to Skyline, which may eventually fuel the redevelopment of Crossroads Place. The BRAC relocation to Mark Center also added to the values a bit. You also have access to Fairfax schools. The reminds me of parts of Annandale further south -- old homes that weren't in desirable enough neighborhoods that they became McMansions from 2000 to 2006, but safe and close to major commuter routes. I would also think that you'd be able to rent it out eventually if you didn't want to sell.
