Yesterday was low 60s.

Today is predicted to be high 90s.

Yet the weather system we're in and going to be in is coming pretty much direct from Lake Michigan - right out of the northwest.

Wher's the heat going to come from?

I'm confused.

Where are you getting your weather reports? 85 degrees is not "high 90s".

We're in a place where warm fronts and cool fronts often collide. Someone told me when we first moved here "don't like the weather? Stick around and it'll change". At least until we get to the seemingly endless days of hazy, hot and humid.

Supposed to be 84 here today in Mount Vernon. When it gets really hot, we're usually about 5 degrees cooler than Old Town or DC.

I'm not sure where you are, but the NWS forecast for me is around 85. It could be a little higher if there are less clouds.

As far as where the heat is coming from, it was 102° in Minnesota yesterday. The second earliest on record that it has ever hit that mark in the state. And this is just 11 days after a snowstorm hit up there. So, while the weather is changeable here, it doesn't compare to out west, and especially mountainous regions (like Denver).

At least for today it looks like your weather site is projecting 4-5 degrees warmer than several other sites I regularly check. I wonder who's more accurate? Personally I like the Capital Weather Gang's forecast but its for the region and not individual locations.

Every weather report that I have seen on tv this morning has said we will be in the low 80's. I'm in Bristow and it is raining and cloudy at 9:17 a.m.

Ya know - I saw that as well yesterday and was somewhat incredulous.
