Hello! my husband and I recently bought a home in Lake Ridge (near Antietam Rd) and will be moving there from Alexandria in September.

I am looking for a good daycare in the Lake Ride area for my 2 yr old son. He is currently attending Northern VA Academy in Landsdown. We really like the school, but we are hoping to find a daycare closer to our new home and for fewer $.

Any recommendations are welcomed and appreciated.

My wife and I send our kids to Minnieland at The Glen, which is about three miles away depending on where you live in Antietam. It's further down Old Bridge ut you can get most of the way over there on back roads if Old Bridge is really backed up. We like it, and we only live a few blocks from Antietam ourselves.

I don't know how much you pay now, but our two kids are a bit under $500/week combined for a three year old and an 18 month old. If you have more than one child attending, the cheapest child gets an additional 10% discount.

We've been pretty happy there in general. My oldest knows more Spanish now (they do some bilingual singing) than I did going into high school.

I work near where your kids go to daycare. When I first started working here, I did research for my kids to see how much it would cost and I heard of some of the daycares in the area costing as much as $2500 for two kids. In Lake Ridge the most I have seen so far is about $1600, so I think you are almost guaranteed to save some money. The amount they charge for daycare in Fairfax is absurd.
